BUYING GUIDE

My original watercolours are painted on a variety of papers, each with its own proportions. To create standard, frame-friendly fine-art prints, images of the original artwork are carefully cropped or adjusted, so print sizes and aspect ratios may differ from the original artwork.

Please note that the room images are illustrative. The variant images show the actual artwork and proportions.

Ink & paper

  • All of my gallery's prints are produced by theprintspace, Europe’s leading fine-art printing studio.They use a giclée process and certified sustainable production which gives outstanding results.

  • "Giclée” describes high-quality archival inkjet-based fine-art printing using up to 12-colour pigments which provide a high colour gamut and high resistance to fading and environmental degradation.

  • My prints are printed on Ilford Cotton Textured 310 gsm paper, a wonderful heavy-weight paper as it captures the subtle textures of the original watercolour.

Production & delivery

Production of your order may start very quickly so its important if you wish to cancel to do so within 2 hours of placing your order.

  • Production and delivery takes between 6 and 10 days of your order placement for Europe and the USA, a little longer for the rest of the world.

Print-only

If you choose a print-only you will receive a sheet of paper with the artwork printed in the centre.

Your print will be shipped rolled in a cardboard tube. If you order more than one print, all the prints that will fit in one tube will only occur one delivery charge.

If you wish to frame the print, I recommend waiting until it arrives to choose a frame and mount that best enhances your space.

  • The paper size is 60x40 cm / 23.6x15.7 in.
  • The printed area is 46x26 cm / 18.3x10.4 in.
  • The unprinted area is about 7 cm / 2.7 in wide.

Framed print

If you choose a framed print you will receive a print exactly the same as a print-only but framed and mounted and ready to hang.

Framed prints are delivered in robust flat packaging per frame ordered.

  • The mount / mat (shown in cream here for contrast in a white frame) is nominally 6.5 cm / 2.5 in wide.
  • A little bit gets hidden behind the frame rebate which leaves the visible area about 6.2 cm / 2.4 in wide.
  • There is an unprinted border 0.5 cm / 0.2 around the printed area.

Frame details

My gallery offers quality FSC-certified solid wood frames from our print partner at a standard size of 60x40 cm / 23.6x15.7 in.

  • Standard frame is modern flat moulding, 1.6 cm / 0.55 in wide x 2.5 cm / 1.0 in depth finished in Oak, Black or White
  • Standard mount / mat colour is Ivory - a subtle light-cream.
  • Glazing is edge-ground float glass 45% UV protection.
  • Acid-free artwork paper backing.
  • Sturdy backing board fitted with sawtooth hanging fixtures as shown here.
