Drawing inspiration from the celebrated English poet Philip Larkin, 'Cut grass lies frail' is an interpretation of his poem 'Cut Grass'. The scene is the cut grassy fields above the delightful village of Shere, nestling in the Surrey Hills. A simple composition but there is a lot of detail if you look, to get the cut grass to be vibrant and realistically varied.
