This watercolour draws inspiration from the poem 'Cut Grass', by the celebrated English poet Philip Larkin. The scene is mown (or grazed?) fields above the delightful village of Shere, nestling in the Surrey Hills. If the artist looks long and hard at the landscape, all kinds of interesting details emerge from what on the surface appears to be a simple subject. The yellow/green perks up neutral decor schemes.
